Meet the new Miss Intercontinental Cuba 2018

Miss Intercontinental Cuba 2018 Cynthia Linnet Lau

Cynthia Linnet Lau has been selected title of Miss Intercontinental Cuba 2018. On the evening of October 12 at Futurama Art Galleries in Miami, Florida, Cynthia was crowned during a special crowning ceremony and will represent Cuba a the 47th annual Miss Intercontinental Pageant held in Manila, Philippines.

Cynthia is a 22-year-old student at Florida International University competing her bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Health Sciences. Her career goal is to become a Doctor of Public Health and specialize in Health Policy and Management to help find compelling solutions for health care and public health problems on a global scale. Originally born in Holguin, Cuba, Cynthia migrated to the United States at age five and resides in Miami, Florida.

Cynthia is advocate for cancer research and utilizing her voice as an outlet to tell her story on behalf of those affected by cancer and life-threatening illnesses after being a cancer survivor from the age of 13. She also works avidly with the Make a Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, and the American Cancer Society: Cancer Action Network where she traveled to Washington D.C. to reunite with volunteers and the president of the organization and members of the U.S. Congress to speak about the importance of cancer research and prevention.


Previously, Cynthia has competed and won several pageants such as Miss Cuba Queen of the Continents and represented Cuba at Queen of the Continents International winning the title of Queen of the Continents Tourism International, amongst others she was Miss Perfect Glamour International, and represented Miss South Miami USA at Miss Florida USA, and holds the title of Miss Art Deco.
